Child Panic Attacks at Night – A Terrifying Experience for Your Child!

By Denise

Child Panic Attacks at Night is a very disturbing experience for anyone who has to experience it. It’s when you’re lying in bed, too tired to do anything and the feeling of impending darkness and danger just aren’t letting up. This is especially true for children because they are still dealing with the trauma of their parents’ death, and thus don’t really know how to deal with the fear of the dark. It’s when a child gets this fear at night that night attacks occur.

Children experience night attacks because of the same reason adults do, they’re not getting enough sleep. You know what they say about a “short nap”. Short Nap – No Sleep. Well, I’m sure there were other factors, but sleeping six to eight hours a night helps a lot when dealing with this problem. So it’s time to give your child the quality sleep they need.

There are ways you can make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep. The first thing is to create an environment for them that will enable them to sleep well at night. A darkened bedroom is a no-no. You want to create a place that they feel safe and comfortable. A nice bright light is always a good choice.

Some children may have panic attacks during the day, this isn’t due to lack of sleep. It’s usually because they aren’t getting enough exercise. Try walking your child to the playground on a nice sunny day and spending some quality time with them. If you do this all the time, you’ll be able to tell at night whether or not your child is experiencing any child panic attacks at night.

Now lets go over some natural methods that can help cure or at least ease your child panic attacks at night. One thing I always suggest is meditation. This helps them relax and it helps you determine where your stress is coming from. If it’s because you’re constantly worrying about something, this will manifest itself into a sleeping disorder. Meditation also allows your child to clear their minds of any fears and worries they may have.

Another great method that I’ve found helpful is proper diet. This may sound like common sense to you but you would be surprised how many parents don’t realize this one simple thing. Eating a proper diet is going to allow your child to be more healthy, as well as helping them avoid any child panic attacks at night. Make sure you don’t skip breakfast or any other meal for that matter. Also I suggest you eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. A proper diet will give your child the nutrients they need to stay healthy and away from any anxiety related issues.
